Dis: Life is Hell Page 03:08 - "Demeter"
In other news...I think my sister (the up-and-coming nurse) was overreacting a little bit in taking me to the hospital on Friday. (I was protesting at the time, but she was telling me not to underestimate my pain, and she's a handful to argue with.) At the hospital, she let me blather on about how I like sharks, though. And she let me start telling her a story about a fishmonger who was turned into an armadillo by an angry magician, and a princess falls in love with him...

What, ho! Hark! But here is a new page for you to be reading!
It's the end of this scene, which makes me very happy. I think this might be the last time in the comic (at least for a long ol' while) where I've had to draw a car. (I really hate drawing cars.)
So...ta-ta, Hermes. Be seein' you. *Wave*
Also! More Onieros stuff. (Har, har.)
In other news...I'm closing commissions for a while. Something's come up that's gonna keep me pretty busy for a while. It's been a very good day to be a JoJo. While I can't go into the specifics about this secret doomsday project, I can tell you that it's awesome, and when you see it...I'd like to think that you'll like what you see. ^__~
For now, let's just revel in how blissful I'm feeling:

Sorry for silence. Made it to ultimate destination of Grand Forks, as planned. Been busy. Busy, yes.
Apartment acquired. Landlady is very nice; helpful, friendly. Management is new; place was disreputable a few months ago. Getting nicer, now. Good location; directly next to grocery and liquor stores, down the street from my sister. Apartment is nice; more space than I'd been sharing in Tucson. Bought four purple chairs for dining space; they are awesome.

Well...We've reached the Southern crust of South Dakota...putting us a mere hundred-ish miles away from our ultimate destination in the Red River Valley. This is good, as we're both reaching our breaking points. Strange that sitting still for so long would be so tiring. And yet, here we are, stumbling and red-eyed like drunkards. Exhaustion makes me chatty, and I've been rambling about Luc Besson and Darth Maul. Oh, what I would do for a red Sharpie marker right now...but mine are all in a box, somewhere. Well.
Today we moved from seeing the corn fields of Kansas to seeing the corn fields of Nebraska, and then crossed the wide, lapping Missouri River to behold the corn fields of Iowa. We have determined that Nebraska's fields are the least favorable. Also, they've been the only state where we've actually had to stop at a truck weigh station (twice!) and this lowers it, somewhat, in our estimation.

Forgive yesterday's lack of a progress report. Our lodgings in Santa Rosa, New Mexico, were without internet service, though they did have ample parking for our truck with La Chupacabra in tow.

While you read this in your journeys through cyberspace, know that I am making pilgrimage of another kind. Yes, gentle readers, the great migration to the Great White Northland has begun.
My father flew in late last night in order to assist me with this endeavor. This morning, bright and early, he arrived at my apartment with a rented truck and help in the form of my dear uncle, my uncle's best friend (a fellow comic book aficionado, and general swell guy) and (more awkwardly) my ex-boyfriend. The truck was loaded in two hours' time, and though I had been up 'til 3am packing, the night before, I was continuing to stick things in boxes until the last moments. And, yes, the very last thing to be packed was my beloved computer. ^__~

Here are some photos!
If you have any pictures, please share them. =D
Ah, good friends and joyful fun. I snagged the first one of Juno's super-duper-limited-edition art books, which is awesome. And I got my copy of the Star Cross'd Destiny soundtrack! Yeeeeeeee, it's so good! I highly encourage everyone to purchase a copy. You really won't be disappointed. I've taken to singing "Delta Cry" in the shower. So good. =D

Well, guys, I'm off to Otakon in Baltimore! (I've never been to Maryland before. Oh, the adventures!) I'll be at Alley Table A6, along with my fellow Bohemian Trash Studios artists Juno Blair B. of "Star Cross'd Destiny" and James Riot of "The Path".
I'll have copies of "Dis: Life is Hell" for sale, as well as posters and original art. (And if you show up in any kind of Dead Squirrel themed costume, you're not leaving without a complimentary original painting. ^__~)
If you'll be there, please stop by and say "hello" and make me sketch things for you! Hope to see you there!
